Sacrifices: The Weight of Hope

Sacrifices: The Weight of Hope explores the visible and invisible burdens carried by undocumented immigrants in pursuit of a life built on hope. Through symbolic imagery: hands in prayer, a burning heart, fragmented bodies, and objects of labor and survival,  the painting reflects both spiritual resilience and the physical toll of sacrifice.

The work speaks to the tension between faith and hardship, devotion and endurance. Prayer becomes both a refuge and a plea. While surrounding symbols reference labor, identity, displacement, and the emotional cost of seeking opportunity in a place that promises possibility but often demands profound sacrifice.

At its core, the piece is a reflection on perseverance, dignity, and the quiet strength required to pursue the dream of belonging.
